Premise Health Nurse Practitioner, Cynthia Finley, works at a site that has had many COVID positive patients and has been seeing members for virtual visits to help treat their symptoms. As Cynthia interacted with her members, she recognized their heightened anxiety and fear. In order to help calm their nerves, Cynthia provided her personal contact information to those who needed reassurance or comfort during non-wellness center hours. By making herself available she was able to provide ongoing care and support to assist in keeping multiple members away from the emergency room. While one member did require hospital admission, Cynthia made it a point to stay connected via secure messaging through the patient portal.
Cynthia has gone above and beyond treating her members by taking a proactive approach and providing a personal touch. Cynthia has also been able to step in and provide care and medication refills for members who were unable to connect with their community primary care physicians due to closures or lengthy wait times.
