Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging program at Premise Health seeks to continue to establish our organization as an industry leader in creating diverse work and care spaces that value, honor, respect, and protect difference. We are committed to the provision of culturally humble and aware, socially responsible, just, and equitable care for leading organizations and their people.

A place for everyone.

What does it take to serve our clients, which include some of the most well-known employers and organizations in the world? First, a continued commitment to getting it right ourselves, right from the start. As a part of the required training all Premise team members complete, we include segments dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. This approach recently won Premise a 2023 Training APEX award, which recognizes organizations that excel at employee training and development.

In keeping with our commitment to support and uplift the many diverse voices and experiences that make Premise unique, we have a robust diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging program that is rooted in education, advocacy, collaboration, and innovation. We provide quarterly toolkits to assist leaders in conversing with a diverse staff, scholarships for team members to join the National Society of Black Women in Medicine, and a monthly education series to explore and celebrate experiences across identities. There is always room to grow, and we continue to move forward on the path toward discovery and action.

Learning and growing together.

Growth only happens when the time and space is created for it. Team members are encouraged to join one of our peer-led Team Member Resource Groups to network, hear new ideas and solutions, and create opportunities for career development. They have the option to join as a group member or as an ally supporting their peers. Many have embraced the opportunity to learn and grow with one another.

Serving those who served for us.

At Premise, we’re committed to hiring and supporting veterans and active military spouses. We are proud to hold the number one spot of only 31 healthcare organizations that make the Military Friendly list for our programs supporting veterans, the National Guard, Reserves, and active military spouses. These programs have also earned us recognition as a VETS Indexes 3-Star Employer and a spot on the Military Times Best for Vets: Employers list. Veterans and military spouses are a premium resource for talent, which is why we continually invest in attracting and retaining them.

An ongoing journey.

Our progress is supported by the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging department and council. Their work touches all facets of our organization. These groups are tased with developing strategies to strengthen best-practice care; reviewing and making  recommendations on company policies; and working directly with our leadership team to make actionable changes that reflect our commitment to this important work.
