Brentwood Worksite Clinics Owner to Merge with Walgreen Affiliate

A Chicago investment firm announced today plans to form a worksite health center company by merging Brentwood-based CHS Health Services with the Take Care Employer Solutions division of Walgreen.

Walgreen executives said they have signed a definitive agreement with Water Street Healthcare Partners for the latter to acquire a majority interest in Take Care Employer Solutions, which manages more than 360 worksite health centers. Water Street also has invested an undisclosed amount of money into CHS Health Services, which last year merged with Brentwood-based business process outsourcing firm W Squared and moved its headquarters here from Virginia.

Through the merger, terms of which were not disclosed in a release, the new company will serve more than 200 corporations through nearly 500 worksite health and wellness centers nationwide.

“CHS and Take Care Employer Solutions are both deeply committed to finding new ways to drive positive health care outcomes for our clients and their employees,” said CHS CEO Stuart Clark, pictured at right. “This merger will provide us with a significant opportunity to transform onsite health care. Together we will have the experience and resources to create innovative strategies that will improve patient engagement and positively impact health outcomes.”
