Book of Business Analysis: Clients realize ~27% gross savings with Premise Health

The Study

Through the use of an advanced analytics reporting platform, Premise Health conducted a representative study based on the eligible populations of three clients from varied industries– entertainment, manufacturing, and finance–and geography–east coast and west coast. In total, the evaluated data represents outcomes based on approximately 85,000 eligible lives. Within that population, the analysis was a cohort comparison of members with health center attribution compared to community attribution. Attribution is determined by plurality of primary care provider visits and is based on frequency, not cost.  Clinic attribution rates among the five clients ranged from 28% to 30% of the total eligible population.

Advanced Analytics methodology blends Premise Health electronic medical record (EMR) data and community claims data to demonstrate health outcomes and cost of care reductions in presence of an onsite health center. The data sources used include: claims-based eligibly data, medical claims data, pharmacy claims data, and onsite health center EMR data.  This is highlighted in the analysis through cohort comparison of various metrics measuring utilization rates (units of service/1,000), use of evidence-based medicine and complimentary practices that drive positive health outcomes, and per member per month (PMPM) costs. Overall, Premise Health clinic attributed members have higher rate of chronic conditions and co-morbidities. This typically represents higher health risk and cost in a population.
