Employers Take Advantage of Healthcare Delivery Methods
Employers are implementing innovative tactics to help combat rising healthcare costs.
A recent survey by the National Business Group on Health (NBGH), showed that healthcare benefit costs are projected to surpass $14,000 per employee in 2018. That’s why an increasing number of large U.S. employers are planning to adopt strategies such as accountable care organizations (ACOs), Centers of Excellence (COEs), telehealth services, and onsite and nearsite health centers.
More than half of employers (54%) surveyed will offer onsite or nearsite health centers in 2018 and that number could increase to nearly two-thirds by 2020.
Employers are focusing more now on how healthcare is delivered while still pursuing traditional cost controlling methods. These strategies help to further combat the rise of healthcare costs while at the same time giving employees access to broader healthcare services.
